Lorraine Watry is a contemporary realist painter of waterscapes, landscapes, and reflective objects living in Colorado, USA. Lorraine´s art is characterized by bright colours and dramatic light. She likes the challenge of painting reflections in water and glass and many of her works show her mastery of the subject.
Lorraine has a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Colorado in Boulder. After college, she designed clip art at a graphics company for several years. Lorraine began working with watercolour 25 years ago. She also taught at Pikes Peak Community College for 3 years. She now teaches watercolour and drawing to classes at her studio and at other venues.
Lorraine has appeared on an Australian art TV show which was later translated for German speaking viewers in Europe. She has exhibited widely winning several prestigious awards and recognition in renowned publications.
Lorraine has achieved Signature Status in the National Watercolor Society, Rocky Mountain National Watercolor Society, Colorado Watercolor Society and the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society and has paintings juried into many National and International Exhibitions.
