American artist Erwin P. Lewandowski is a graduate of the Fine Arts Department at Central Michigan University and received additional training at Eastern Michigan University. His second career as a professional artist began in 2004 following 25 years of business development and management.
As an artist he blends artistic skills, styles of work, subjects matter and medium preferences to an impressive whole. Returning to art after a long business carrier was a challenging and humbling experience for him. He decided to embrace his new favourite medium – premium coloured pencils – concentrating on contemporary realism and photo realism [hyperrealism]. He creates stunning images that focus on particular elements, structures, movements, and shapes in nature often based on waterscapes and landscapes. His planning process often involves taking two or more settings and combining them to create a scene that is unique in style, meticulously rendered in detail, and visually appealing in form, content, and composition.
Erwin is an award-winning national artist with representation throughout parts of the United States. He is a two-time recipient of Best in Drawing from the International Guild of Realism, has achieved Signature Status [CPSA and CPX] with the Colored Pencil Society of America, Masters Status [MPSA] with the Pencil Art Society of Canada, and Masters Status with the Coloured Pencil Community in Australasia in Sydney, Australia.
His artwork and articles have been featured in various publications. Each year he takes time to host a series of workshops based on his coloured pencil and graphite work.
