Jose Higuera is a Spanish realist painter born in 1966. From an early age he showed a keen interest in drawing and painting. Encouraged by his teachers and his family, Jose was able to pursue his artistic talent. His grandmother put him under the tuition of local artists to learn the techniques of this art.
His first exhibitions were received with great interest by the critics and the public and it was not long before he started selling his works. For several years Jose has worked with the Art Gallery and Auction House of Madrid. This helped him to build up his experience and contacts to allow him to dedicate his time exclusively to painting.
He has presented his works in a number of exhibitions throughout Spain, the USA and Asia. Jose lives in Cantabria (the North of Spain) and the realism in his works continues to be their main characteristic.
