Kevin attended Ohio State University where he studied architecture and commercial art ultimately receiving a BFA. He studied under photorealist Richard Wood and abstract expressionist Eugene Bavinger.

After graduation he worked with Terry Miller Design group as an architectural rendering artist and assistant to the art director. Kevin also played lead guitar in Nargoe Billeye a local rock band.

In 1987 Kevin relocated to North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, drawn by the natural beauty of the mountains and the laid back environment. Kevin developed an art career in portraiture and landscape and won numerous awards in local juried competitions.

In 1990 he married the love of his life Gilda Gaskill a middle school art teacher and ceramic artist. Together they have two lovely children Lina Anne and Alison Davis. Gilda and Kevin remodeled a turn of the century house and created the Aita Studios.

Kevin works primarily with Oil on Linen and paints in, what Matthew C. Foley described as “Painterly Photorealism”. He always tries to let the physicality of the medium to show through to remind the viewer that they are indeed looking at a painting. Kevin paints what he is passionate about including musicians, instruments and their interplay.
