Philip Johnson has studied at the Birmingham College of Art in the UK before working as an illustrator for The Open University. Later Philip took a Bachelor of Education Degree and subsequently took up full time teaching.
Now retired, he finally has the time to return to his personal passion for drawing and painting. His main subjects are portraits of people but he also enjoys other realist work.
In his portraits he strives to make each one not just a mere similarity to the person but more an emotional portrait, which conveys their true personality and human spirit.
