Wendy Griffin has lived on the island of Guernsey since 1973 where art has always been a major part of her life, and it would be rare to find her without a reason or desire to draw or paint.
Guernsey’s dramatic coastline and rough winter seas have always been her inspiration, and so have the beautiful changing light and moods of the Lake District. Wendy loves atmosphere and light to create dramatic land and seascapes from sketches she has made from nature in all of its moods often assisted by photographs she has taken. Although she loves to paint “en plein air” most of her work is done in her studio at home where she can imagine herself back in the atmosphere of the location with the added bonus of her favourite music playing in the background.
